I was born on a farm in Nebraska and as
a young man decided farming weren't for me. I left the farm and
joined up with the Union Army for adventure. I sure got
adventure, a few of us who were good with a gun were sent across lines
to cause as much trouble as we could and we were very good at
this. Once the war ended I headed to Texas and joined the Rangers
for a few years, but it was hard work with little pay. I drifted
around Texas and New Mexico using the only skills I was good at,
working when I could as a hired gun for ranchers and pushing cattle. I
grew tired of making others profitable and in the early 1880's jobs
were gettin sparse, so I put my talents to use rustling cattle, robbing
banks, holding up a few trains and improving my situation. Who knows
when I get enough I may settle down in a small town here in Texas and
offer my services as Sheriff, wouldn't that be a hoot.
