I
was the only daughter born to a wealthy banker. I had just
turned 24 and graduated from college when my family decided to
travel from Wisconsin to texas to visit relatives. During our
travel my family was ambushed by some outlaws who took what little bit
of money and valuables my father had on him at the time. We
were fortunate that the left us with our lives.
A
man by the name of yankee Tim, a rancher who also helped the law, was
riding by while on the trail of those same outlaws. He found
us wondering through the cactus, looking for food and took my family to
his ranch for protection.
A
year later he became my husband and it wasn't until after we married
that he found out about my family'e wealth. From that day on
he called me his "Cactus Pearl". Our ranch has since grown
making me one of the state's known "Cattle Baroness".
