I was born on my parents farm north of Austin, TX. My mother died giving birth
to me, when I was 16 my father died of tuberculoses. I left home and became a
ranch hand for a few years. When I was 19 I robbed my first stage coach with my
pal Shotgun Frank, from then on we robbed 13 stage coaches, 4 banks , and 1
train. I even rode with Sam Bass for a year. When I was 25 I decided that being
an outlaw wasn't for me, I got offered a job being a deputy in Dallas, TX were I
